On 15th November, Beng, Zhong Ping, Yu Yang, together with our friends (Cherry and Min) and I went to Dongdaemun Design Plaza. Seoul was hosting a two-day Pokemon Champions Day event at Dongdaemun Design Plaze on November 15 and 16.

It was really crowded :(

The event include card game tournaments, pop quizzes and interview with Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby game developers Junichi Masuda and Shigeru Ohmori.

we finally got to see pikachuuuuuuu we were so close from them

We went to nearby Chinese restaurant to have our lunch 'cus we were really hungry. I ordered cham-pong (짬뽕 aka Spicy Seafood Noodle)

We parted from Beng and Yu Yang and went to Hongdae

One of Korea's street food: Gyeranbbang (계란빵 aka Egg Muffins)

Had one of the most hot-selling Hoddeok (호떡 aka Korean Sweet Pancake)
along the streets of Hongdae

Hoddeok is a pancake filled with brown sugar, honey, cinnamon and chopped peanuts mixture as filling

Had KBBQ for our dinner!!

After walking around we head to a nearby cafe to rest our legs. Managed to do some catch up with Cherry and Min too!!  ヽ(•‿•)ノ

Day 59, OSEP trip! (31st Oct)

So 2 weeks later, we re-visited GyeongBukGong as it was a school fieldtrip with our classmates and teachers. This time round we understood the history of the palace more as our teachers were there to explain and answer all of our questions!

Day 59

The one holding on to the camera is our form teacher, Lee Hyojong sungsengnim!

There was a selfie competition going on so throughout the day we took a lot of selfies with our teacher!

Candid photo of sungsengnim!

Here's Boon Wee and Ashley!

And also Beng Chung!

And this is our classmate from China, Yuan Jun!

This was the last selfie we took for the day before leaving GyeongBukGong! Afterwhich, we went on to have our lunch together with our sungsengnim, but we didn't manage to take any photos there. After lunch we went to a cafe and chatted for a long while before ending the fulfilling day! :)

Signing off,
Yuyang!

Day 45, OSEP trip! (17th Oct)

Day 45

Warning !!!
Today's post all will be about food!!!

Firstly it will be about Gachon University cafeteria food !!
This is pork cutlet

 Stir fried Pork rice

 Fried Chicken with Japanese sauce
Seaweed with some meat ~(ps i forgotten)
All the above food is one set which cost 3800won($4.75)
The rice serving is around 1.5bowl size ? You still can ask for more rice if you want!

Next up it will be KBBQ!(Pork belly)

The hot plate is slightly slanted and there's a funnel to drain those fatty oil out!

This is how you really eat it ! you wrap all the possible thing together with lettuce and eat it !

After you finish most of the food you can ask the person to cook fried rice !
Those food above cost around 10,000 to 15,000won per person which is around $12.50 to $18.75

This has different parts of pork! total meat weight is 1kg.

Next it will be Korean Stew~
-Before cooking it-

-After cooking it-
The soup will get thicker as you cook longer. With some remaining soup you can ask the person to help you cook fried rice!
ps. I don't have photo for fried rice.

This is beef stew!

Next up will be some delivery food

This is three whole chicken with the bone removed, cost around 20 000won($25)

Pizza and chicken delivery this cost around 40 000won($50) each box of chicken is one whole chicken.

And this is cha jiang mian i forgot how much it cost already hahaha

Any food you could think of is available for delivery! Initially we would ask people to help us order the food because we didn't get our prepaid card yet.

After I gotten it, I would call the delivery myself haha. You must be wondering how I take order when all of them speak in Korean? Is easy~ you just need 3 step to order any delivery service!

Step 1 (say hello in korean) followed up by address
Step 2 say the name of the food you want to order
(The person will confirm your order then ask if you are paying by card or cash)
Step 3 Say that you will be paying by cash

That's all hahaha, that's how I did it~

Next up will be some ice-cream where you can easily find it at any convenient store!

I would say the ice-cream in Korea is relatively cheap and nice! Each ice-cream cost from 500won to 1500won ($0.625-$1.87) depending on where you buy the ice cream! If it is convenient store it will be around 1000won and 500won if you buy it in supermarket!!

Next up it will be Korean Desert! Patbingsu!
Is like Korean style of ice Kachang and 20x nicer hahaha.
The ice is snow flake like~

This peanut Patbingsu contains mochi!
Notice there's condense milk for you to add on the patbingsu! Those who love sweet stuff can add more of it hahaha.

Patbingsu cost around 9000-14 000 won ($11.25-$17.50)
It's serving is a lot for two people to share , it is ideal for four people to share one patbingsu

Patbingsu with my Korean Buddy!
